Tips for Social Distancing with Your Cat

While having extra time to relax and stay at home sounds nice at first, the CDC’s recommendation to practice social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 can definitely create a bad case of Cabin Fever. If you’re lucky enough to have a feline friend by your side, though, we have a couple of tips to keep yourself entertained at home!

1. Play Time!

It’s time to break out some toys! Dedicating some time to playing with your little furball will help them get out some energy and will create an opportunity to have some fun. Whether you’re playing hide and seek, tag, or climbing around a cat tree, your furry best friend will be grateful for the extra attention!

2. A Fortress Fit for a Kitty.

Ready for some laughs? Just like kiddos, kitties sometimes enjoy playing around with the box more than the thing that came inside! Give your cat a box fortress and they’ll have a blast. You can even add to the fun by throwing a toy in!

3. Release Your Inner Bookworm.

Wanting to curl up with a good book over the next few days? Go for it, just be sure to give your kitty some snuggles while you read! While your feline friend might not follow along with the story, they will be grateful for the extra love and attention.

4. Take a Cat Nap.

Got some extra time on your hands? Sounds like a cat nap is in order! Gather up tons of blankets, pillows, and your furry best friend and snuggle up. Getting some extra rest will help you to relax, and it can help to boost your mood and keep you in good health!

5. Don’t Forget About AVC!

Though we agree with the CDC’s recommendation to practice social distancing, AVC is still here for all of your kitty questions and concerns! If you have any questions or are concerned about your little furball’s health, be sure to give us a call or come and see us.
