Spring is just a few weeks away, and with it comes some pretty great weather. If you’re ready to put this extra cold winter behind you, take some time to get outside and get active with your furry best friend! Not sure where to start? AVC has got you covered.
1. Tour the Town!
See all of the best sights that your city has to offer by switching up your walking route. Explore parks, discover new places, and maybe even stop by a local restaurant like MUTTS Canine Cantina for a quick bite to eat! Your dog will appreciate the extra exercise while you gain a newfound appreciation for the hidden gems of your city.
2. Expand Your Puppy Social Circle.
Socialization is a super important part of doggy development. Find your local dog park, pack some of your furry best friend’s favorite toys and treats, and meet some new puppy pals. This is a great way for you and your dog to meet some new friends in your city!
3. Go Fetch!
If you’re wanting to get outside with your dog, don’t be afraid to rely on the classics! A good old-fashioned game of fetch will get your pup moving. Whether you’re using your doggo’s favorite tennis ball, a toy, or a stick from the backyard, this is a quick and easy way to get outside and get some exercise throughout the day.
4. Don’t Forget to Cool Off.
On especially hot spring days here in Texas, your pup may want to take a break to cool off! Whether you want to run through the sprinklers, take a dip in the pool, or even visit a nearby lake, your furry best friend will have a blast and cool off with this fun activity. *WARNING: Make sure to closely monitor your pets whenever they’re near a pool or body of water, and use doggy life vests/jackets when near deep bodies of water!
5. Ask AVC!
