August Dental Promotion
It’s the moment we have all been waiting for!!! Our August back to school dental promo is back!
As Spring fever begins to set in and we set off on our Spring Break getaways, we must also say a reluctant “hello, again” to the sniffles and sneezes that come with the changing weather. These aggravating symptoms don’t just cause problems for humans either – dogs can suffer from the discomfort of springtime allergies too! If you’re looking to help your pup beat their seasonal allergies this year, check out some of these helpful tips.
1. Switch Up Your Walk Around the Block.
With warmer temperatures on the way, you can be certain that your furry best friend will be begging to get outside and get moving! To keep your pup away from the springtime sniffles, try to avoid taking walks in the early morning and late afternoon, as these are the times that pollen levels are typically at their peak.
2. Time for Some Spring Cleaning!
It’s time to break out your pup’s worst enemy – the dreaded vacuum! Although your canine pal might have to wait outside in the backyard while you do a little spring cleaning, making sure to regularly change air filters, vacuum, and run air conditioners or dehumidifiers is worth the work. Keeping your little furball out of damp environments like basements and laundry rooms also helps to keep them away from areas with a higher susceptibility to allergens.
3. Bath Time!
One of the best ways to prevent dry and itchy skin is giving your pup a refreshing bath. Washing their fur with a hypoallergenic anti-itch shampoo (bonus points for soothing ingredients like oatmeal and aloe) will help your dog to feel good as new! For advice on which shampoo is best for your pet’s specific needs, give us a call right here at AVC!
4. Throw it in the Wash!
While your furry best friend may look all snuggled up, beds (both yours and theirs) can become covered with harmful allergens over time. Make sure to regularly wash blankets, sheets, and bed covers in hot water. You may event want to consider using towels on top of beds to make this task easier.
5. Still Feeling Itchy and Sneezy? Come See Us!
If your pup can’t stop licking and scratching, has red or irritated skin, or has a tough case of the puppy sneezes, schedule an appointment to come see us at AVC! Our knowledgeable and friendly staff has tons of tools to help your little fluffball beat springtime allergies and get right back into cuddling shape.
