In the hustle and bustle of managing family relationships, maintaining a social life, and staying on top of work obligations, prioritizing the health of your pets can sometimes be easily forgotten. However, there’s no better time to start taking better of your little fluff ball than now! Follow some of these simple and easy health tips to keep your kitty in tip-top shape.
1. You Are What You Eat!
One of the most fundamental aspects of your furry best friend’s health is their diet. Choosing a high-quality food and carefully monitoring the amount that your cat eats will help you to make sure that they’re getting the best nutrition possible. Additionally, providing clean, fresh water for your kitty each and every day is an essential part of keeping them healthy.
2. It’s Time to Invest in a Scratching Post.
Purchasing a scratching post for your little guy or gal is a great investment for their overall well-being. This allows your cat to stretch their muscles, keeps their claws in top conditions, and it might just save that new leather couch from an unwanted scratching session!
3. Let’s Get Moving!
Though your little fluff ball might seem like they’re meant to lay around all day long, cats still need an appropriate amount of exercise and stimulation throughout the day. Find time to break out your kitty’s favorite toy, hide some treats around the house, or even break out a laser pointer to encourage them to exercise!
4. Keep it Clean.
If you’re wondering how many litter boxes to place around your home, a good rule of thumb is to have one for each cat plus one (if you have 2 cats, you should have 3 litter boxes). This, coupled with regular cleaning, will encourage your little furry friends to practice good litter box habits. Plus, it will help you to notice any irregularities that might be a sign of a health issue.
